What is RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model)?

RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model) is SAP’s modern approach to building Fiori-ready applications using ABAP on SAP BTP or S/4HANA. It lets developers create end-to-end business applications — from database tables to UI — in a clean, standardized, and cloud-friendly way. What I really like about RAP is how it simplifies development with CDS views, behavior definitions, and service bindings, all while following modern REST principles.

When I first heard about RAP, it sounded complicated, but everything
became clear after I joined Anubhav Trainings. The trainer, Anubhav Oberoy, broke down each layer step by step and showed how to build real apps using RAP on SAP BTP.

The hands-on sessions helped me understand how it connects backend logic with Fiori UIs effortlessly.

That training made me realize how RAP is shaping the future of ABAP development — clean, efficient, and built for the cloud.
