Is ABAP required after SAP HANA?

 It depends on what are trying to build.

ABAP is not mandatory. But a nice to have option. If you are working for SAP, then working with HANA products will definitely involve some ABAP. Customizing/Optimizing existing products will definitely require ABAP as a core skill.

Sap Hana is new technology which could occupy a huge market share since its an in - memory database, which sap has itself build itself replacing the traditional database and its mainly focusing on converting your models that u create into codes.

Whereas Abap is an programming language which is almost present more than two decades, and lot many experienced Abap consultants are available in the market. Mostly its completely focused on coding and u dont have an models.
